1 Hour, 1 CE!
This talk will begin by discussing the limitations of some current approaches to assessing suicidal risk in youth. We will then review some more recent innovations in identifying youth at high suicidal risk, including adaptive screening, the Implicit Association Test, machine learning of health records, and social media posts. Then, we will discuss steps involved in developing an effective safety plan and the development of a safety plan and linkage to services, and the effectiveness of safety planning in reducing suicidal risk. Finally, we will conclude with an overview of some safety planning apps that may have clinical utility.
