The Buffet of Relationships: Working with Non-monogamy and kink in sex therapy

Non-monogamy and kink are becoming more and more prevalent in our practices as therapists. This class will help you to understand basic terminology used about and within these communities as well as teaching necessary skills on how to negotiate relationship agreements, emotional support plans and kink scenes.

Everyone deserves a safe and non-judgmental place to explore their relationships.

About the Presenter

Tamara Pincus LICSW CST is the founder of the Pincus Center, a group practice providing sex therapy, education and coaching. She has worked as a sex therapist for over 15 years specializing in working with non-monogamous, kinky, neurodivergent and other marginalized clients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify two different types of non-monogamy and differentiate between them
  2. Participants will be able to Identify two strategies used in negotiating non-monogamy agreements
  3. Participants will be able to identify two things that should be agreed upon before engaging in a kink scene

Case study around non-monogamy agreements: 15 minutes - small group work 

Negotiating emotional safety plans: 15 minutes
